A cool factor of your web site should not turn you away from this basic and obvious tip. Remember, it's easy for your visitors to press the back button on their browsers.so i have found a few link which relate to how make your web site cool.
1.) http://www.webdevelopersnotes.com/tips/webdesign/choosing_background_and_foreground_colors.php3

Use a contrasting color combination for the page background and the foreground text. Avoid bright colors as backgrounds . Try to test the clarity of your foreground text. View your page from a distance of 3 feet. If the text is readable use the color combination.
2.)htp://www.webdevelopersnotes.com/tips/webdesign/creating_seamless_backgrounds.php3

Use a seamless image instead of a large background image, because large background image, say 800x600, would be at least 30kb (optimized). A small seamless image would be much smaller. You can have seamless images that are a mere 3kb! Thus, small seamless images result in faster web page display. The seamless image is the image the left and right & top and bottom sides are welded so a particular side continues the information on the opposite one. From this web, it can teach you how to make it.

3.) http://www.webdevelopersnotes.com/tips/webdesign/headings_and_fonts.php3

ometime we want to emphasis the web site headings by using special font but it may not emphasis because the visitors do not install that font. A straight solution is to present headings in form of graphics rather than HTML text. You can then have the freedom to choose the font and the typography, without worrying about its final display.
